Cebuano Vocabulary: Terms for Places in Cebuano

Visayan terms for places should be the next lesson for travelers as these will really come handy when you do your walking or exploring of the locality that you will find yourself in, or if you find yourself losing your way. Remember, locals will appreciate it, if you go the extra mile of learning basic vocabulary, and expressions. Besides, it separates you from a common tourist thus saving you from possible rip-offs, also there is a "shock value" to it. So here goes:

tindahan (general term) If you want to give a distinction between different stores, you just add the merchandise that they sell for instance:

If you are observant, you will see a small store in almost every corner in the Philippines. These are called: Sari-sari Store, meaning, assorted merchandise are sold.
