Cebuano Essential Vocabulary: Spanish Numbers



You are probably wondering why this entry deals with Spanish numbers, well, some of you may not know that the Philippines was under Spanish rule for almost 400 years and a substantial percentage of the Visayan vocabulary consists of Spanish terms, the most common of all and widely used and applied is the Spanish numbers. Spanish numbers are to be used in the following occasions:

1) Time telling
2) Giving dates
3) Counting money and
4) counting items over 10 (the Visayan number is used when counting from 1-10)
