Visayan is a collective term for the languages in the Visayan islands but each island or province in the Visayas region also has its own language or particular language group. For instance, the language in Samar-Leyte is Waray-waray, Hiligaynon is the language in Panay Island, and the most dominant language with variations in vocabulary is the Cebuano language which is being used in the islands of Siquijor, Bohol, Negros Oriental, Cebu and a portion of Leyte. It is also being used in some areas in Mindanao (with a mixture of the local language) especially in northern Mindanao, eastern Mindanao, north eastern Mindanao, and some areas of central Mindanao.
The language I will be discussing in the succeeding pages will be Cebuano, which is the language in Cebu.
